Fair Haven, New Jersey
Borough of Fair Haven, New Jersey

Leaf and Brush Collection

LEAVES: Leaves may be placed any time, loose at curbside, during leaf collection months. For leaves to be collected according to schedule, leaves must be out curbside 2 to 3 days BEFORE your designated pick-up week. They must be placed out separate from brush. Leaves in plastic bags will not be collected, except for residents on River Road. Please do not mix any foreign materials, such a wood and stones with leaves as they are taken to a farm for mulching. Once the collection crew goes through a street, collecting leaves, it will not return until the next scheduled collection week.

BRUSH: Place brush loose. It should not be bundled. Brush must not be placed at curbside any earlier than the Wednesday before a scheduled collection week. Brush placed out earlier than the scheduled monthly dates will result in a summons being issued.

GRASS: Grass will not be picked up by the Borough. Studies at Rutgers University and other groups have shown grass can safely be left on lawns.

Brush and leaf collection days will be listed on the applicable monthly calendar in Focus on Fair Haven Please check the calendar as a reminder of collection dates in your zone.

No leaves or brush should be placed within 10 feet of a storm drain as per Borough Stormwater Ordinance (6-12-06B)
